As an LA native I have always had a love/hate relationship with the city. While there is so much opportunity, energy and beauty to it, I've often found myself very lonely here. I imaging a lot of people here find themselves longing for normalcy but feeling stuck in the outer fringes, not knowing how to participate. Just like me.

During 2020 Beachbody on Demand saw a massive uptick in its user base due to gyms closing their doors to customers. Many turned to at-home fitness to keep themselves in shape during the pandemic. While many navigated to the site the problem was the sell page was severely outdated and in desperate need of a facelift. I lead the rebranding of the Beachbody on Demand sell page implementing a looping hero video, animations and gave the site a stronger sense of what the Beachbody community truly is about. The updated site launched mid-year leading to increased subscriptions and conversions and making Beachbody more competitive in the at-home fitness space.

A huge part of the 2020 roadmap was focused on bringing parity to the feature set across platforms. While the iOS and Android platforms provide users with an option to track their daily activity, the feature was missing from the web experience. While bringing this new feature to the web, we also expanded upon it giving the user a way to view their progress in graph form as well as creating a hub for all their tracked activity. Additionally, while designing this feature I improved the experience for sharing tracked activity and brought in custom illustrations to surprise and delight users.
While entering the international market in 2019, Beachbody took the opportunity to redesign its library of over 80 programs on desktop and mobile apps. This included a completely new interface for the program’s hub as well as all the program detail pages. They also needed a new back-end content management system to support their growing needs as an international business. Using a new WordPress content management system to power the revamped site — we were able to implement new features to the site including a looping hero video to better convey the type of workouts the program included. We also built out a robust overview screen to better ground users in what to expect from the program by housing introduction videos, trainer bios, a sample workout available to logged-out users, and much more. The redesigned site showcases the robust content library in a way that makes Beachbody much more competitive in the at-home fitness space as they entered the international landscape.

As a kid I would spend hours upon hours immersing myself in fantasy worlds. Whether it be drawing comic books on my bedroom floor, watching the superhero lineup on Saturday morning cartoons I always dreamt of a world more fantastical than our own. And I guess somethings never change.
